Former CA Director General Mr. Francis Wangusi Feted at Kuza Awards

Former Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) Director General Mr. Francis Wangusi was on 16th June 2023 posthumously awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Kuza Broadcasting Awards.

Mr. Wangusi who passed away in March this year, was recognized for his distinguished role in the development of the ICT sector, specifically for spearheading significant initiatives, including the transition from analogue to television broadcasting in Kenya.

During his tenure as the 5th Director General, Mr. Wangusi shepherded Kenya to global recognition as a leader in the ICT space, receiving global acclaim for its groundbreaking ICT innovations, and, as a result of his leadership, Kenyans now enjoy the benefits brought about by ICT services.

He oversaw remarkable advances in the ICT sector, paving the way for the notable growth currently witnessed. His spouse Agnes Wangusi received the award on his behalf.
