CA, Ministry of ICT Plant 5,000 Trees on Mazingira Day
The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) today joined the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy (MoICDE) in Lari, Kiambu County, to plant 5,000 trees as the country marked Mazingira Day.
ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo presided over the exercise, which sought to promote environmental sustainability and highlight the importance of collective action in addressing climate change, restoring degraded landscapes and creating a greener environment for present and future generations.
The tree-planting exercise aligns with the Government's environmental conservation agenda and the national tree-growing campaign, which aims to increase Kenya's tree cover while encouraging individuals, institutions and communities to take an active part in environmental protection.
The collaboration demonstrated that environmental conservation requires a collective effort across all sectors of society.
The exercise also provided an opportunity to sensitise stakeholders on the importance of planting and nurturing trees, conserving natural resources and adopting environmentally responsible practices for a healthier, more sustainable future.
